Once upon a time, in 1997, in a faraway land at the end of the mighty African continent, there were a bunch of fun-seeking and quite quirky characters. They were masters of the food world, having spent many long days and nights serving happy families in their restaurants.
They dreamed of making fantastic food, simply – without all the fuss of big kitchens and endless staff. One day, a spark of genius struck! 
What food would make the people of the South of Africa sing and dance with joy, even when times were tough?
What food is fun to eat, no matter where you are or what you’re doing? It’s the humble hotdog, of course!
This quirky, fun-loving bunch of guys decided then and there, they were going to make the world’s best hotdog – and called it Sausage Saloon. Their Plan? Make it so simple, yet so good, that nobody would suspect the magic and quality hidden inside every sausage.

Their sausages were made from the best cuts of meat… they were so good that even the German fleischmeisters (sausage masters) agreed these sausages deserved a medal. Their sauces and toppings -pure magic! They transformed every hotdog into a unique masterpiece tailored to every taste bud.
Sausage Saloon grew quickly. The people of South Africa just couldn’t get enough of them. But as they grew, it started to feel like playing a game of snakes and ladders. As they moved forward quickly up the ladders, there was always a sneaky snake waiting to take them back a few steps. Yet, they never lost their sense of fun. And that’s what kept them finding those ladders to the top!
As the team grew, so did their dreams. 
They wanted to share their hotdogs with the world!
Why keep them hidden in South Africa when everyone needs a little joy and more moments of fun? So, they set out to spread the fun across the globe. One chilly autumn morning, the Sausage Saloon crew gathered in a room filled with Lego® blocks. Why? Because how else do you build a brand that’s all about having fun? They mapped out their next chapter, defined their heroes, and dared to believe in the impossible. Their vision? To bring moments of fun to families everywhere – in South Africa, Mauritius, the UAE, India, and beyond!

Not forgetting their roots, they set out to strengthen their foundation in South Africa and used it as a springboard to share their wisdom and fun with new partners in new markets. They wanted everyone to enjoy a Sausage Saloon hotdog whenever they wanted – at events, near offices, in shopping malls, on the streets, and at home.
To have stores all around the globe, and never stop having fun. That’s the vision for the future – spreading joy, one hotdog at a time!
